Modern Residential Architecture in Old Preston Hollow

This 6,200-square-foot modern home in Old Preston Hollow was designed to feel both solidly grounded and light as air. Our clients wanted a house that would feel calm, lifted, and quietly clear, with spaces shaped by natural light and a strong connection between interior and exterior.

We approached the residence through material continuity, proportion, and movement. Brick, wood, and steel carry from the outside in, creating a tactile sense of place and giving the home a grounded, modern architectural language. Throughout the house, natural light guides the experience, softening the structure and bringing warmth to each room.

The massing of the home continues this idea of lift. Rooflines, balconies, and a vertical stair tower give the structure a sense of poised elevation, allowing the home to feel open and expressive without losing its presence. Designed for clients who love their dogs, the house also includes floor-level windows, resilient yet beautiful flooring, and integrated spaces for kenneling and bathing. These details were designed to feel natural to the home, not added on.

The result is a modern Dallas residence that balances clarity, warmth, and everyday livability. It is a custom home rooted in Old Preston Hollow, shaped by light, material, and the rituals of the people who live there.
