University Park Renovation

Modern Home Renovation in University Park

In reworking Bud Oglesby’s modernist residence in University Park, our directive was clear: listen first, and do not disrupt the essence of the home. As Dallas residential architects, we approached the renovation with restraint, updating the entry, kitchen, and primary suite to support modern living while honoring the home’s original architectural language.

Rift-cut white oak, used in both the entry and powder bath, brings warmth and continuity to the renovation. The kitchen was simplified and opened to the breakfast area, allowing natural light and art to breathe. The primary bath, once a porch, now glows with light and careful mirror placement, offering privacy without compromise.

The result is a modern University Park renovation that feels quiet, precise, and deeply respectful of the original home. It reflects our belief that good residential architecture begins with listening: to the client, to the site, and to what is already there.
