Tree House

Modern Residential Architecture in Arlington

Located on a steep, wooded site in Arlington, this 3,200-square-foot home uses the slope of the land to lift daily living into the tree canopy. We approached the project by listening to the topography first, allowing the house to rise with the site rather than flatten it.

The main living space is a vaulted, timber-trussed volume set between two wings. It opens to a cantilevered balcony 14 feet above grade, creating the feeling of a quiet perch within the trees. Floor-to-ceiling glass, scissor trusses, and a fully glazed gable dissolve the boundary between indoors and out.

Natural light moves through the home with the rhythm of the trees, shifting throughout the day and deepening the connection to the wooded landscape. The result is a modern home that feels suspended, grounded, and deeply connected to its site.

Tree House reflects our work as modern residential architects in the Dallas area, creating homes shaped by land, light, and careful listening.
