Modern Condominium Design on Turtle Creek

The opportunity to design a home in architect George Dahl’s 1964 Goldcrest Condominium Tower on Turtle Creek was a true honor. Our client had selected the very space once occupied by Dahl himself, giving the project a rare sense of history, intimacy, and responsibility.

As with every project, we began by listening. The client, an artist, was downsizing from 4,000 square feet to 900 square feet and carefully editing her artwork, belongings, and daily rituals. Every inch mattered, but the goal was never simply efficiency. The goal was to create a compact Dallas condominium that could still feel expansive, personal, and full of life.

We spent several early meetings reviewing the client’s own artwork and collected pieces, listening to stories from the past and hopes for the future. From those conversations, a palette and quality of natural light began to emerge. The design became less about filling a smaller space and more about shaping a home around art, memory, and the way our client wanted to live.

The result is a modern condominium in Dallas that feels quiet, strong, and deeply personal. Though compact, the space seems to open beyond its footprint, reflecting our work as Dallas residential architects: listening closely, editing carefully, and creating homes that feel completely connected to the people who live in them.
